Some may see the town Seaside, Oregon (the place I currently live) as a vacation paradise. Heck, we have thousands of people in for Memorial Day Weekend. The parking lots there are jammed during vacation week and the smells of sweet and salty food and the sights of all the crowds. There is a constant chatter of people and everyone seems like they enjoy it.
That's when it's busy. When it's not, it seems kind of like a ghosttown. The parking lots aren't very full and the sidewalks aren't packed at all. It's pretty quiet. The people in town aren't very rich. And you can't tell too well, but there's a huge drug problem, especially in the schools. It's kind of a run down place when it's no big weekend or anything. It seems kind of lonely...

Yeah, I've visited in both the busiest times and the 'lonely' times. The lonely times seem more real...
I love the Oregon Coast! :-)
