My dad, mom, sister, and I all went down to a place on the Columbia River called "The Rogue"... It's a restaurant with a bar and some really great food. We went down there today mainly because we found out a boat from the show "The Deadliest Catch" would be docked there...... and there'd be a free crab dinner =D
We got there and ordered some cheesy bread before we got on the boat and some friends in the Coast Guard =) Well, it was about 20-30 minutes after getting there before we could go onto the boat. After we got on, they welcomed us and told us tons and tons of stories (which some were not very entertaining.... but that's okay). We also got to ride up and down a tiny part of the River. We also got hot chocolate and got to see a little bit of an episode of the ship we're on getting hit with a massive wave! It was pretty cool....
...Not only was it cool... It was cold. FREEZING. I felt sorry for the people on that show that have to work in colder conditions than that.
We got off the boat and got back to our table... They had a free crab dinner and a fundraiser for the food bank =) I PIGGED OUT! I mean... why shouldn't I have? It was free food... Plus, crab! That's naturally one of my favorites, considering I was born in Alaska and king crab and fish were pretty much the only meats that were up there. After spending about an hour and a half talking, eating, and playing games with friends, we finally left... And yes, we donated quite a bit of money to the food bank because the dinner was so great =)
An awesome day!
