Ever Carved into Cork?

Yesterday was a great day... We started it off by at 8 in the morning going to a little bakery about 2 minutes away. We met a few boxers there: Camp Fire Lady, Marmalade, Maiden, Miniles, Cats Meow, and Nene. I had already exchanged with CFL, Marm, and Maiden, so I exchanged with Minilies, Cats Meow, and Nene over a cinnamon roll... We had a big reason to be there. They were going to pick up a clue book for my dad's newest box: Graveyard of the Pacific!

After we exchanged, we went over to a carving class that we've been taking for a few weeks and started off by finishing previous stamps we'd been carving on Lino Block (AKA The Mysterious Gray/The Mysterious Tan Stuff)... After a ton of attempts to get a good print, I got one and started on the next project... The teacher brought out some designs she had found for me before the class. The one I wanted to carve was in the shape of a circle. The teacher had just put out some real corks and some soft (fake) cork for people to carve on, if they could. I figured I'd try the soft (fake) cork out for this design... I drew the image on, because the transfer paper she had didn't work... Then, I got carving....... AND....... the moment of truth or absolute total failure resulted in......... absolute total failure! The soft (fake) cork wasn't hard enough to get a good grip on and by the time I did that class was at its end... Turns out the real cork, even with exacto knife is really hard....... So, the myth that any solid thing can be carved into: BUSTED! =)

I then proceeded to waste nearly two hours watching TV and eating lunch... just in time for The Usual Suspects Clue game to start =D I got lucky a lot of my guesses and had an easy strategy: Get every last card out of everyone I could by interogating them as soon as they wrote a response back. I was able to solve the mystery in an hour and five minutes correctly. I won the game... =)

Then, I watched a ton of Nick at Night, including Home Improvement and George Lopez (love that show).... and went to bed around 11 o'clock because I was baby sitting and my parents' movie went a little longer than expected...
